Thematic Photographic 217 - Drink up

Carmi has a new photo theme up and I wanna play. This weeks theme is "Drink Up"  a celebration of any form of consumable liquid.

I actually didn't think I would be able to play, I didn't think I took any shots of consumable liquid recently, but low and behold.

During one of our camping trips this year Spotty Chop made me something to drink. I'm partial to Crystal Light's Ice Tea. You may notice that not all of the ice tea made it into the jug, but having my favorite child make it for me? Well, as you can guess it was the sweetest tea I had ever tasted.

Again, camping, this year (that I have yet to post photos of). We went to Whale's tale. We reserved a cabana due to the fact that when I mention the word S.U.N. I come up with a 2nd degree burn. This however was just some mosquito netting, not exactly what I was thinking of. As luck would have it, there was no sun that day. Except for the sun we brought for Spotty. His drink of choice if available. You can also see the beverage that keeps boy toy running. It in fact keeps America running. That's right Duncan Donuts ice coffee.

The ice coffee container is an ever present part of our lives. And sometimes in the lives of others. Cheese Please would always know we had been around if she spied it in the trash. Sometimes boy toy would purposely not toss it out so she would know he was thinking of her.

Some people can also be  beastly DOOOOSH BAGs if they have no caffeine...just sayin 

Apple Picking at Honey Pot

Over the weekend we went apple picking with Moo, Freak Show, Hippy Chick and Cheese Please. Boy Toy was invited but it was a pretty miserable drizzily kind of day and Boy Toy declared “I am in wet trees pretty much every Fing day of my life, I am NOT doing in on an Fing weekend.” So Spotty Chop and I headed off ourselves.

At first I thought it was going to be one of those trips, you know the kind, every frelling photo you take just isn’t right.

 But then I got these

I used to get incredible photos of Spotty Chop apple picking, but last years photos blew lemon scented chunks. These were ok

But this would have been Fing awesome.  KHAN!!!!

Here is Freak Show HURLING apples at his beloved oldest child

LOOK at Hippy’s face – that is FEAR PEOPLE he is so mean

And this photo? This sums up Moo up perfectly. She is just like her mom, queen bee who expects to be obeyed.

This photo? Everyone who is Anyone has been on the receiving end of this look…although Freak Show has clocked more hours than anyone else

But my favorite is this

This is Moo and Spotty Chop’s relationship “Auntie MOO can I tell you something?” Auntie Moo , drops whatever she is doing and focuses on Spotty “TELL ME!”

Not only did we get to pick apples, but we had 100’s of donuts, convinced other people that they must have donuts, went through mazes, fed goats and piggies and went through even more mazes and then had even more donuts. But then? We got to pick up Boy Toy and head down to the Moo compound where Hippy and CR made us pizza, and let Spotty borrow some wacked out Japanese PS2 game, and Moo sent us home with more canned goods than the Ingalls had on the prairie. I also got an applesauce recipe that was so simple even I could do it!

Carmi’s theme this week is singles. So I am posting a few photos of my only college roommate.


Roomie died in October of 2008 and I have to say I am having a harder time now dealing with her death than I did when it was still fresh. Roomie and I could go months without speaking and then we would cram as much stuff into a few conversations as we could. I think it’s just been too many months of not talking to her..

This was Roomie at my baby shower. I now know that she had just miscarried her second child. She still showed up to support me and soon to be Spotty Chop.

This is a photo of us at a Father Daughter dance. Simmons was all over this crap. I love this photo because this shows her goofy side

This is a photo of us at The Others wedding. The 3 of us made a team of “tiny pagan ladies”. I think we both look awfully purdy.

So Weenie meister meister weenie Fuck you for being dead. I don’t like it and I still miss you.

This week it’s time to reflect on Curves. This is my view in my cubical of DOOM. We recently moved and a new co-worker kindly installed a bar from the ceiling so I too could have fresh oxygen. I also happen to sit at the end of a long corridor. It makes me happy to see green.

This week its time to reflect on Blue.  Some back story. My mom has always bought my dad blue shirts because it brings out the blue in his eyes, and I though she was bat shit insane for doing it. Then I had Spotty, with eyes like this.

What did I find when I went looking for a photo to post? The fact that I only found about 2 photos that do not have blue in them. I am insane. I am also going to be doing a separate post of my favorite photos of Spotty. Not for you dear reader, but for me. I LOVE looking at my boy.

Here are some of the thousands of blue photos, that I have already used in my blog. Holy crap I say!

Ok, I need to stop, this isn't the half of what I have already posted...good grief Charlie Brown!
